AI Assisted DSAT Development

Requirements

To provide expert cyber security advice and guidance throughout the development of a brand new Artificial Intelligence (AI) assisted suite of tools that deliver cost effective people capability solutions.

Requirements included;

• Improve the security maturity of the organisation
• Ensure the product is developed securely
• Provide responses to client security related queries

Implementation

Engagement with Agilexe started with a workshop to understand the organisation, where they started, where they were and their overall aim. This included obtaining the primary customer profile, their understanding of security requirements and a high level overview of the technologies in use across the organisation. 

Work began with embedding ‘Security by Design’ principles at the beginning of the product design phase as well as preparing the organisation for both Cyber Essentials (CE) and Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) accreditation. CE+ was a minimum requirement of their target client so we used this a baseline for all security focused activities.

Challenges

One of the key challenges of supporting an organisation utilising latest AI technology in their product development, was the limited understanding of the technology (and subsequent risks) from their target clients. This resulted in various security questionnaires and follow-up meetings between Agilexe and their proposed clients, to delve further into the responses and provide detailed assurances that all risks had been considered and suitably managed.

Results

Agilexe obtained Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation in March 2024, and subsequently moved onto penetration testing of their product soon after, with a remediation action plan completed within risk tolerance 6 weeks later. 

Agilexe have also introduced a full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), enabling them to swiftly and safely provide product updates, whilst continuously working on latest enhancements in a structured environment.
